Your adventure filled 5 Day Kruger Park and Sabi Sand Safari begins with a collection from Johannesburg, or your pre-safari accommodation, Nelspruit or Skukuza Airports.
Freshen up on arrival, before we head into the Sabi Sand Game Reserve on our first thrilling sunset/night drive. This sunset game drive lasts into the evening, taking us in search of wild animals inhabiting the Sabi Sand Reserve.
Our sunset to evening game drives are a great opportunity to spot some of the nocturnal wildlife found in the area. We arrive back at Tydon Safari Camp after dark, to a welcoming campfire awaiting us in the outdoor boma. Enjoy some drinks around the cosy fire before a tasty South African dinner is served.
Spend the rest of the evening relaxing and chatting by the fire, or retreat to your air-conditioned tent for a peaceful night’s sleep in the heart of the African bush.
We rise bright and early to be met by the untamed African bush bathed in the golden morning light.
Early morning tea or coffee and a light snack is enjoyed in the thatched dining area before venturing into the Kruger National Park, the top safari destination in South Africa. Returning to Tydon Safari Camp after a rewarding morning of game viewing, we sit down to a delicious well-prepared brunch.
After breakfast, enjoy free time set aside to explore the camp, cool down in the camps swimming pool, or take a nap in your air-conditioned tent. A light refreshing lunch is served in the dining area at around 14:00, after which we venture back in to the Kruger Park on an afternoon game viewing drive.
At the end of the day we return to camp for pre-dinner drinks served around the campfire in the open air boma followed by a well-prepared dinner. Kick back and relax under the canopy of stars recounting the adventures of your day in the legendary Kruger National Park.
Your guide will wake you at first light to enjoy a fresh cup of tea and coffee and light snack before setting off on an exhilarating morning game viewing walk in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve. Our guides provide you with insightful information about the incredible plants and animals in the area, while you explore Big Five territory on foot.
The bush walk in Sabi Sand is ideal for becoming aware of the finer details of the African bush and its variety of creatures. We spend time tracking wild animals and getting to know the wildness more intimately than possible on game viewing drives.
After our exciting game walk we return to Tydon Safari Camp for a scrumptious mid-morning breakfast. Spend leisure time around the camp, take a dip in the swimming pool, or take a refreshing siesta in your tented room. A freshly prepared lunch spread is served in the thatched dining area in Tydon Safari Camp at around 14:00.
After lunch there is more leisure time before we embark on a sunset/night Sabi Sand game drive. In addition to its excellent reputation for outstanding leopard sightings, Sabi Sand Game Reserve is also known for its close-up encounters with the rest of the Big Five of Africa.
Returning to camp we find chilled beverages waiting in the boma where a campfire is already going. Share a juicy meal under the stars then sit back and take in the night sounds of the African Bush.
After a fresh cup of coffee or tea and a light snack, we head into the Kruger Park in search of Africa’s Big Five and any wildlife we may have missed so far.
After our rewarding morning of game spotting and great photographic opportunities in the Kruger National Park, a mid-morning brunch, complete with fresh fruit, yogurts and muffins is served at Tydon Safari Camp. Spend some time relaxing on your tent deck soaking up the peace of our natural surroundings, cool off in the swimming pool, or nap in your air-conditioned tent before lunch is served in the main dining area.
At around 14:30 we set off once again on an afternoon game drive in the Kruger Park, getting up as close as possible to the animals for some great wildlife photographs before heading back to the tented Safari Camp in time for dinner and refreshing drinks around the fire.
On the last day of our eventful 5 Day Sabi Sand and Kruger Park Safari, we say goodbye to Tydon Safari Camp, travelling via the scenic Panorama Route (excluded from Skukuza transfers), through beautiful landscapes and quaint towns, we make our way back to Johannesburg or Nelspruit taking home the wonderful memories and photos of our African wildlife adventure.

Meals at Tydon Safari Camp
Much of a country and its culture is expressed through its cuisine. At Tydon African Safaris the meals we serve are a reflection of real home-style South African food; we do cater for vegetarians.
Your day begins with early morning tea or coffee and a light snack in the main dining area before setting out on a morning game drive. On return to Tydon Safari Camp, a sumptuous full breakfast is served mid-morning with a selection of fresh fruits, yoghurt, cereal, and fresh flapjacks/crumpets. Fresh fruit juice is supplied.
Lunch is served at Safari Camp during the heat of the day; therefore, we prepare light refreshing meals with an accompaniment of fresh salads and chilled fruit to satisfy the taste buds.
Cold beverages and fruit juices available for purchase.
In true South African style, we eat together around the crackling campfire in the open air boma under the African night sky, while the sounds of animals calling in the distance can often be heard.
