Day 1

Johannesburg to Tydon Safari Camp & Sabi Sand Night Drive

At the beginning of our 7 Day Kruger Park and Sabi Sand Safari we collect you from Johannesburg OR Tambo International Airport or your pre-safari accommodation, Nelspruit or Skukuza Airports.

From Johannesburg, or Egoli (the City of Gold) as it is known, we travel towards the internationally renowned Kruger National Park, where our safari adventure will take unfold. Our transfers are conducted in comfortable air-conditioned vehicles.

Our journey to Tydon Safari Camp takes us northeast through the scenic Mpumalanga Province of South Africa. The Tydon Safari Camp is set in a tranquil location bordering the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve at the Shaw’s gate entrance.

Arriving at our camp, we settle in before setting off on our first exhilarating game viewing drive in the world-famous Sabi Sand Game Reserve. This sunset/night game drive lasts into the evening, taking us in search of the wildlife inhabiting the Sabi Sand. Situated in the Mpumalanga Lowveld region, Sabi Sand Game Reserve is best known for its exceptional leopard sighting opportunities.

We explore the Kruger Park and Sabi Sand Game Reserve in open safari vehicles, on this one-week long South African safari adventure.

Returning from our sunset/night game drive after dark, a welcoming campfire awaits us in the boma.

Kick back and relax while sipping on chilled drinks at the cosy fireside complimenting a tasty South African dinner in the outdoor boma, or dining room, at the lantern-lit Tydon Safari Camp. Dinner is followed by free time to relax and unwind under the bright stars of the African bushveld. Spend the rest of the evening chatting by the fire, or retire to your air-conditioned tent for a good night’s sleep.

Dinner Included

Day 2

Kruger National Park Game Drives

Our second day on safari in South Africa starts with early morning tea or coffee at camp. We then venture into Kruger Park to explore and look for wildlife. Kruger National Park is South Africa’s premier park, rich in wildlife and flora. Our morning game drive takes us in search of the Big Five of Africa (lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo and elephant) and the abundance of other wild animals and birds of Kruger Park.  The morning safari adventure in Kruger is followed by a scrumptious breakfast back at Tydon Safari Camp. After breakfast there is free time set aside to enjoy the camp, or take a rest. During the heat of the day you can take a refreshing swim in the pool, relax in the lounge area, or nap in your air-conditioned tent.  The natural campgrounds are well worth exploring on foot, and there is a viewing deck where you can sit back and take in the peace of the African bush.

Later a light and delicious lunch is served in the dining area. At around 14:30 we head back to Kruger Park on an afternoon safari drive. The safari vehicles that we use are open safari vehicles to improve visibility on our game drives and immerse you in untamed nature. Our skilled guides follow the best game viewing routes to ensure that you get to see as much of the wildlife as possible. We generally get up close to the wildlife in these unspoilt wilderness areas. At the end of the day we head back to camp for evening drinks in the boma around the campfire before we serve a well-prepared dinner in the boma or enclosed dining area. Spend the night listening to the sounds of the bushveld and exchanging tales of your adventures in Kruger.

We walk through the bush where the possibility of close range wildlife encounters awaits you. This unforgettable bush walk in Sabi Sand is one of the best ways to see the often-overlooked finer details of the African bushveld, spotting smaller creatures and animal tracks.

After our invigorating game walk we return to Tydon Safari Camp for a well deserved breakfast.

Breakfast is followed by leisure time to dip into the swimming pool, or take a rejuvenating snooze in your African-style tent. An appetising lunch spread is served in the dining area at camp.

You can expect to see a variety of other wildlife on your game drive in Sabi Sand Reserve, offering fantastic photographic opportunities.

We leave Sabi Sand, driving back to Tydon Safari Camp after nightfall. As on previous nights the campfire is already lit and cold drinks await you. A hearty dinner is again served in the open-air boma area under starry African skies, or indoors depending on the weather.
