Tydon Eco Camp gives you an exclusive, yet authentic African safari experience at an affordable rate in our eco-friendly camp. Though it is our ‘budget camp’ at a more affordable rate than our Safari or Bush Camps, it does not sacrifice on luxury or comfort.
Tydon Eco Camp is set apart in unspoilt bushveld and surrounded by indigenous trees. The camp is built from natural materials and is gas and solar powered, making it our more environmentally conscience camp where your footprint is limited.
The exclusive Tydon Eco Camp lies just outside of the world renowned Kruger National Park along the border of Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve, offering guests close wildlife encounters.
This rustic camp provides the ideal setting for an authentic and intimate African adventure in comfort and style. Seven traditional safari-style tents with separate private bathrooms (not en suite) lie tucked away on raised wooden decks in the indigenous vegetation, offering privacy and luxury in unspoilt nature.
Tydon Eco Camp takes guests on the wilderness journey of a lifetime – one that surpasses all expectations by combining superb service, delectable food, tented accommodation and world-class game viewing into one incredible African safari experience.
Spend some time around the camp, enjoying the peace and tranquillity of the bush, relaxing by the poolside, or in the open-air boma for dining around the flickering campfire. Eco Camp gives you a unique bush experience you will never forget.
Though Tydon Eco Camp is available for individual bookings, it provides the unique opportunity to book the entire camp for groups of 14, for a more private safari experience.
Chic African styled tented rooms perched on raised platforms create the perfect ambience for your safari stay. The seven tented rooms are equipped with everything you need, including twin beds with linen and African design finishes, side table with lampshade, comfortable chairs, plug points and a fan.
A short distance away from your tent along a well-lit path is your own private bathroom fitted with basin, toilet and shower. Shower toiletries, bath towels and swimming pool towels are provided.
We consider homely South African cuisine to be an essential part of the Tydon African Safaris experience. The meals that we serve is a reflection of real South African food. We do cater for vegetarians.
Breakfast is served before the game drive or before departure on your last day. There is a selection of fresh fruit, yoghurts, cereals, freshly baked muffins. A traditional cooked breakfast buffet is also on offer. Fresh fruit juice is supplied.
Lunchtime is at one of the camps or picnic spots inside Kruger National Park where a variety of foods are available. You will have the opportunity to sit down and have a meal or have a take away. This lunch is at your cost.
A crackling campfire and flickering lanterns set the mood for dinner under the African skies, while the sounds of nocturnal animals calling in the distance can often be heard. In true safari style we all eat together in the boma.
Traditional South African food is generally cooked over an open fire or in a three-legged pot (or potjie), so meat tends to be served in either stewed or grilled form. We have a selection of the traditional meals which include a starch along with plenty of vegetables and side salads. You can purchase ice-cold beverages or a bottle of fine South African wine to complement your evening meal.
Each day of your Kruger Park Safari tour you participate in thrilling game viewing opportunities into the Kruger National Park on open safari vehicles, providing you with the best opportunity to see the animals; you may even be fortunate enough to spot South Africa’s famous Big Five (lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant and rhino) in their natural habitat.
