Nestled in the shade of indigenous trees, Tydon Safari Camp gives you an unforgettable, authentic African safari experience in the heart of the South African bush.
Intimate and comfortable yet simplistic, combined with excellent service, the tented camp creates a traditional African safari feel to your journey. This charming camp provides the ideal setting for an authentic and intimate African adventure in comfort and style in seven canvas tented rooms with en suite bathrooms that lie tucked away on wooden decks amongst the indigenous vegetation. You can be forgiven for thinking you were transported back in time to an unspoilt and unexplored Africa.
Sharing its borders with the world renowned Sabi Sand Game Reserve which forms part of the Greater Kruger region due to having unfenced borders with the Kruger Park, Tydon Safari Camp offers guests a unique opportunity of staying in semi-permanent luxury tented rooms and experiencing wildlife game drives and bush walks in the Sabi Sand as well as the Kruger National Park.
Tydon Safari Camp takes guests on a wilderness journey of a lifetime by combining superb service, delectable food, tented accommodation and world-class game viewing – in both the Kruger National Park and Sabi Sand Game Reserve – into one incredible African safari experience. Spend some time around the camp, enjoying the peace and tranquility of your surroundings, soaking up the African sun by the poolside, or in the open-air boma for dining around the crackling campfire. Safari Camp gives you a unique bush experience you will never forget.
Chic African styled tented rooms perched on raised platforms create the perfect ambiance for your safari stay.
The seven tented rooms combine privacy and comfort complete with en suite bathrooms with a shower and air-conditioning, while upholding the traditions of an African safari camp.
The tented rooms feature three quarter size twin beds with linen and African design bedspreads, side table with lampshade, comfortable chairs, mosquito nets, a mirror stand with hairdryer, luggage stands, plug points as well as tea and coffee making facilities.
Children have a unique experience by staying in their own tented room on the same deck as their parents or we can provide stretchers in the same tent as the parents.
At Tydon African Safaris we consider homely South African cuisine an essential part of the African safari experience. The meals that we serve are a reflection of real home-style South African food. We do cater for vegetarians.
A traditional cooked breakfast buffet with a selection of fresh fruit, yoghurts, cereals, and freshly baked muffins and crumpets is served after your morning game drive, or before departure on your last day of safari.
Lunchtime is served at camp during the heat of the day; therefore, we prepare a light refreshing meal accompanied by a selection of fresh salads and chilled fruit that satisfy the taste buds.
Ice-cold beverages and fruit juices are available for purchase.
Scents of traditional South African food, generally cooked over an open fire or in a potjie pot (three-legged pot), whet your appetite for the sumptuous meal to come. In true South African style, we all eat together in the lantern lit open air boma around the crackling campfire under the African sky.
Each day will see you participate in exhilarating game viewing opportunities in the Kruger National Park and Sabi Sand Game Reserve in open safari vehicles, with a chance to relax and refresh the soul, while watching the wild animals in their natural habitat, you may even be fortunate enough to spot the Big Five (lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant and rhino).
